Yau Lee Construction Co Ltd Head Office has been rewarded the Hanson Grand Award (Office) in the competition. Yau Lee Construction Co Ltd is a proactive participant in promoting green culture in office and industry. The company actively set up and follow different internationally recognized standard, including: ISO 50001 standard for energy management system to improve the energy performance of the company. The company are also active participants in different public environmental competitions in Hong Kong, and gained numbers of awards: Green Office Award awarded by World Green Organization, Green Management Business Award by Green Council etc.
The company is keen on adopting energy saving technologies, hardware replacement are made on lighting and air conditioning system: Intelligent Fan Coil Unit are installed to reduce source of power loss and achieve operation in higher energy efficiency. Under the 4Ts Charter, the company has set the energy saving targets and actively engaged the staffs in achieving the targets together. Staffs are reminded to turn off electrical appliances when not in use. In summer, the air-conditioning temperature is kept at 24°C to 26°C. Green procurement is adopted that the purchase and usage of energy efficient product are supported by the company. Moreover, Yau Lee has a complete monitoring system that the carbon emission produced from office daily operation has been recorded and reviewed regularly since 2017. Data of electricity consumption of the office are uploaded to intranet so that managers can monitor it regularly.
