Hang Seng Management College campus accommodating green award-winning building blocks adopting district cooling design and optimizing energy consumption. The energy efficient chiller system was conntected to new buildings in the campus to further enhance energy efficiency. The college received Hanson Outstanding Award (Post-secondary Education) due to its outstanding energy conservation result contributed by the profound technologies, e.g. radiant ceiling cooling system.
Despite an 8% increase of students number in 2017, Hang Seng Management College still managed to save 2.71% of energy compared with Year 2014/15. Various energy saving measures have been adopted in accordance with Energy Saving Chapter 2017, 4Ts Chapter Scheme and the energy audit result. The retrofitting included the replacement of compact fluorescent lamp by LED lighting system. Besides, 112 numbers of PV panel were installed to reduce energy consumption. Energy usage was optimized by integrating Building Management System and Facility Booking System which is able to be modelled by other post-secondary education institution.
All the 3 buildings in the campus and buildings in the Residential Colleges have remarkably achieved BEAM Plus of Final Platinum within 2012 to 2015, which indicates the hardware of the buildings is of energy efficient type, and proves college's determination in improving environmental quality.
