APM, a shopping mall with the longest operation time located in Kwun Tong, is the winner of Hanson Grand Award (Shopping Mall) and Best Presentation Award (Group 1). The dedicated management team is outperforming under the challenging operation of unpredictable people flow in different period of time.
The shopping mall accomplish great achievement in energy saving in accordance with the 4Ts charter. Major improvement works contributed to the saving include the replacement of air-cooled chillers by water-cooled chillers and adopting LED with motion sensors at the staircases and E&M floor corridor. In long term, Phase 2 & 3 replacement of water-cooled chillers will be undertaken to improve overall energy efficiency. APM is keen to adopt innovative energy saving measures - the team has designed a "movable lighting cart", which is low budget and easily applied to other properties, to save energy for night-time cleaning and maintenance.
The management team believe that more involvement from the public can result in greater success in energy saving. By introducing "4C" principle-"Check, Control, Change, Cut", staffs are encouraged to take initiatives in their own working positions. Energy audit are conducted regularly to identify new Energy Management Opportunities (EMO). Besides, APM has participated in CLP "Meter Online" programme to closely monitor electricity consumption of the shopping mall monthly. By making use of the weather forecast information, the team can operate the air-conditioning plant more efficiently.
