Valais is a low density residential villa development located in a rural area of natural environment. The development is awarded Hanson Excellent Award (Residential Building / Housing Estate).
The management team is providing housekeeping services to residents. With respect to the efforts on promoting energy conservation, there are various supports being deployed including energy audit and reporting services to individual household. The management team also assists resident by replacing existing lighting installation to LED alternatives. Lighting retrofit has also been carried out for club house while daylight is fully utilized. Where daylight is more available to the interior spaces especially at those adjacent to the perimeter circulation zone, artificial lighting installation are provided with photocell sensors. LED spot lights have been adopted in dining areas and circulation zone. Indoor swimming pool cover is provided to reduce energy loss during unoccupied periods.
There is a testing site for solar power generation at Valais which serves as live case of successful applying renewable energy. Motion sensor has been installed at refuse collection point to reduce operation of lighting there and hence energy consumption. Valais has participated in CLP meter‐on‐line programme. By making use of the weather forecast information, the management team could operate the air‐conditioning plant in clubhouse efficiently.
The establishment of dedicated environmental protection ambassador has launched various programmes for the promotion of energy and environmental conservation to the residents since 2015. Management staff as well as supporting staff are trained on energy conservation best practices in their job duties.
