4T Tips
(1) Set energy saving target with a timeline
- Set the percentage of energy reduction with a timeline (say 5 years plan) comparing to a base year.
- The energy saving target, timeline and actual energy consumption of base year shall be provided upon requested.
(2) Ensure transparency on energy saving result and building energy data
- The energy saving result and building energy data should be published through channels such as company's website / annual report / newsletter.
- Engage tenants to participate transparency on energy data together.
(3) Encourage inhabitants (including staff / students / occupants / tenants) to work together on the above energy saving target
- Involve inhabitants in planning energy saving programme.
- Set goals and provide feedback to inhabitants on progress of energy saving programme.
- Encourage participation of inhabitants in implementation of energy saving programme.
- Provide briefing or supportive coaching for inhabitants on energy saving.
- Communicate regularly with inhabitants on energy saving programme.
- Create opportunities for sharing of goals and accomplishments.
Optional additional pledge
In addition to energy saving, signatories of 4T charter scheme are also encouraged to set targets and timelines for the reduction of carbon emissions, such as installation of more renewable energy systems, adoption of green transport and waste reduction, etc., and share their measures and achievements.
