St. Teresa Secondary School committed themselves in energy conservation and is the award winner of Hanson Excellent Award (School (Primary and Secondary)). The school management has expedited major efforts on promoting energy conservation to various aspects of school operations. The school management team has included environmental protection in school policy. Specified requirements and guidelines are established to form the environmental management framework for different members of the school to follow.
To reduce energy use for unoccupied public area, motion sensors have been installed in LED lighting retrofit project. After normal class hours, the school schedules room occupancy for students in a way to optimize energy use.
The school communicates messages of environmental conservation to the communities via school newsletters. Knowledge of environmental protection are shared to student via specially designed curriculum in different teaching subjects.
