Mira Place Tower A and Mira Place 1, formerly known as "Miramar Tower" and "Miramar Shopping Centre" respectively, is the winner of the Hanson Outstanding Award (Shopping Mall).
Undergoing asset enhancement works on different scales in the multi-use complex over the years, such as refining the interior design layout and upgrading on building services systems, more challenges were brought upon energy saving.
The air-cooled chiller plant located at the Tower A of the complex has been replaced by a 5800 RT water-cooled system. At the same time, energy efficient oil-free chillers have been adopted at the new extension of Mira Place 1 resulted in substantial energy saving. Furthermore, lighting retrofit projects have been carried out in the complex's carpark, using LED light tubes, automatic lighting control system and daylight sensor to minimize energy consumption. The lighting LPD has been reduced to below 5W per sqm.
Asset enhancement works within the complex have been designed and carried out in conformity with the Group's Environmental Policy. The installation and systems applied in the projects comply with the building energy efficiency codes and building management guidelines on green procurement. In addition, Miramar Group also has the first transparent energy saving LED TV wall at its shopping mall façade.
With the establishment of Green Task Force, regular meetings are conducted to review environmental performance of the complex. With a view to maximizing energy efficiency and positive outcomes bringing to the community, the Group provides a wide array of supportive measures and delivers various community programs that have engaged stakeholders including tenants and the NGOs, etc.
